Avoid "shotgun" interviews at all costs

Avoid "shotgun" interviews at all costs

"Shotgun" interviews can be very bad for your career health.

You need to put as much effort into interview preparation as you do for researching and submitting a job application.

The problem arises when you are contacted by a recruiter in the afternoon to attend an interview the following morning (or worse)...in other words, you don't have enough time to fully prepare to perform at your best.

It is vital that candidates allow at least one full working day after being granted an interview to properly prepare for the event.  Otherwise, you could be simply wasting your time, risk damaging your brand and unnecessarily "burning bridges" instead of building them.

HINT:  When you are unexpectedly invited for an interview for tomorrow, tell them that it is not possible and that you can "fit in with them" anytime the day after.  Most of the time it will be rescheduled enabling you to train like a star athlete and perform at your peak.

Good career moves don't happen overnight.  They are a result of a disciplined chain of events and actions that YOU ARE IN CHARGE OFF!
