Develop a job search routine
Routines are fundamental to most activities in our daily lives, and a job search is no different.
A job search takes courage, determination and a routine. Repeatable daily habits that enable a job search to be built into a range of activities is essential.
Building to what is called a “mature job search” takes time and effort. An effective job search is not a range of random activities, it must be strategically based on research and measurable goals.
This is why most job searches fail due to a lack of knowledge and personal discipline to execute a plan.
This applies to all job seekers, young, old, executive, tradie, professionals or whatever.
As a guide, you should spend at least six hours a day, five days a week on your job search. It should not be an after-hours or an afterthought. Everything else should come second to a job search. IT IS THAT IMPORTANT!
Develop a repeatable daily routine and stick to it. Avoid having to always think “what am I going to do today”?
